"A bit of anxiety came up and a few other emotions..."

So said Mick Fanning before paddling out for his first wave at J'Bay since he was buzzed from below last year. He holds out his shaking hand as testament to the nerves.

You're gonna hear a hell of a lot more about Fanning and sharks in the coming weeks, but here it is, his first wave back.

hard not to be impressed by Fanning's psychological resilience.
I surfed with him at North Wall a few times in May when there were daily GWS sightings there........he was rattled but still surfed fcuking amazingly.
