As predicted indeed.
Welcome to the future. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/law-order/robber-in-burqa-hits-croydon-...
Shit that dude looks suss with that balaclava.

If you haven't seen this movie do yourself a favour .....
Mississippi Burning loosely based on the 1964 murder of 3 black men.
Gene Hackman is fucking brillant
What that was once old is new again
Welcome to the future. For real.
Guysmiley - That shit never went away.
It's just been rediscovered by the media.
Should divide the USA nicely if they continue fanning the flames , which is guaranteed as there is adverting and subscription sales at stake. Fuck the state of the nation - there's a dollar in it !
Quote by the Donald or the Blowie?
"If you want to discover the source of the division in our country, look no further than the fake news and the crooked media, which would rather get ratings and clicks than tell the truth."

Same as it ever was.
“Glendon Scott Crawford was a terrorist who attempted to acquire a weapon of mass destruction and to use it to kill innocent members of the Muslim community.”
What an idiot, all he had to do was join the U.S. military!
The mandatory US army crew cut didn't really work for him .
This is the obvious next step.
Christ almighty, the things some people do for fashion...
Blaming the media for the US' current problems is totally laughable.
The Republican Party has taken the soft line against the extremists in its own party and in the community generally for years and years. Rather than stand up for its traditional values it allowed the Tea Party and other extremists to control the agenda as witnessed by the full rejection and blocking of the Obama agenda. It entered the last election fractured and looking back its unsurprising Trump won. With Trump the extreme feel empowered.
.......... a salient lesson for the LNP and its on-going flirtation with accommodating the extreme political views and hocus-pocus of Hanson and other cellar dwelling politicians from FNQ.

I was just reading the same thing. Surely this goose is cooked by now? I can't see the next market capitalization being anywhere near as successful as the first one given the shareholders now hate their guts for bullshitting the financials.
Sean Kelly on his story.
As usual, nails it.
"Years ago I was taught the name of the man who discovered the clitoris.
It sounds like the beginning of a joke, and in a sense it is. It’s an obviously laughable idea.
It’s true that something happened. That man might have been the first academic to give it a name, or to document it in widely distributed anatomical sketches. That is a moment worth recording. But to suggest that any man discovered something women have known about for, well, forever is a distortion of both history and language. It was a reflection not of what actually occurred, but of the way men, who for a long time wrote history, understood what had actually occurred.
The lesson here is pretty simple: our understanding of history changes all the time. Sometimes we learn new facts, which prove that what we thought we knew was wrong. Sometimes we learn that we have been looking at events from one perspective only. These new understandings of history are then written down. Sometimes they add to what we know. Sometimes they change what we know: in other words, replace it. Is history rewritten? Yes, all the time. If that were not the case we wouldn’t need historians.
In case you’ve missed it, and I hope for your sake you have, a controversy sprung up this week after Stan Grant suggested an inscription on the base of a statue of Captain Cook be changed. The inscription said that Cook “discovered” Australia. Grant says this is clearly untrue, given Indigenous people had been here for tens of thousands of years. As he put it, “What were we doing all that time, just waiting for white people to find us?”
The predictable reaction came from the predictable quarters. History was being rewritten, Stalinism was on the march, you get the drift.
But in fact – and this is obvious when you think about it for longer than about ten seconds – all that Grant is arguing for, really, is accuracy. You don’t have to care about politics. You don’t even have to care about the lives of Indigenous people. (Though I think you should care about both.) You just have to care about facts, and the precise use of language. The fact that Indigenous people were already living in Australia when Cook arrived is undisputed. So … why are we pretending something happened when we know it didn’t?
It’s interesting to note that Malcolm Turnbull last year acknowledged that the word “invasion” could be fairly used for the colonisation of Australia (and good on him). It was odd, then, to hear him today saying that Grant was “dead wrong” to suggest that the plaque be changed. But how can it be true that white Australians both invaded a country already containing people anddiscovered it? And if only the former is true, why insist on preserving misleading statements about history on public view, as though they are in fact accurate?
What always surprises me about the arguments you hear in situations like this is that they are precisely the opposite of what they claim to be. Those who wish to “preserve” the past profess a deep passion for history, while making an argument that we should ignore actual history in favour of outdated, inaccurate history. We should be taught what we have always been taught, rather than what we now know to be the case. It is an argument for propaganda, a victory for the obscuring fog of nostalgia.
Grant, by the way, didn’t argue the statue should be removed, just that the plaque should be changed. But even if he had wanted the statue torn down, that is still not an argument about history. We don’t need a statue of Captain Cook to tell us that he existed. A statue is a choice about what aspects of our history to celebrate, in public places. This, too, is the misunderstanding – I suspect deliberate misunderstanding by some – about Australia Day. Changing the date won’t erase the fact that the First Fleet arrived in Port Jackson on that date. That fact will be taught as long as Australia exists. It is simply a choice about whether to celebrate an event – that everyone acknowledges happened! – which caused and continues to cause deep sorrow to many people. An event that even our prime minister acknowledges can be called invasion.
Anyway, I find all this stuff maddening. I’m up for the disagreement. I’m up for a debate about what our history actually tells us, and which aspects to celebrate. But the fact that John Howard and Tony Abbott and Alan Jones are determined to have a dishonest debate, based on emotionally manipulative, clichéd phrases like “rewriting history” – not unlike Abbott’s twisting of the marriage debate into an argument about whether you like the direction of the country – tells you that they don’t have much confidence in their own case at all. And that’s how you know they’re wrong."
The inscription needs gone.
Cue the "yeah, but...", "yeah, but..." 'arguments' from the patriotically-correct usual suspects...
(C'mon! I've got a fiver riding on this)
Old white men defending a version history written by old white men.
I guess it's how you look at things, i thought all this was pretty obvious.
Aboriginal people were the first to discover Australia but Cook was the first non Aboriginal person to discover Australia.
Obviously the statue and plaque represents the discovery of Australia by non Aboriginal people, not the discovery of Australia by Aboriginal people.
You're quite a skilled satirist Indo...
BTW. Why does Cook always get all the fame?
I thought we now knew the Portuguese and the Dutch were the first non Aboriginal people to discovered Australia and possibly Indonesians were fishing ect in NW Australia as far back as the 1500 period.
Bugger! Where's their statues/monuments/place names?
Send Stan the clean up bill http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-08-26/australia-day-argument-intensifies...
50 shades of Grant - Paul Zannetti Pickering Post.
You can't stick brains in monuments. Unfortunately Ole Cooky didn't have facebook or instagram and would'nt have known the social impact he was about to have , then or now. I don't believe the guy really set out to plunder and rape ,pillage Australia, that came at the hands of others after he fucked off ., And I don't believe in Jesus/God either , and it was mostly the missionaries involved in the stolen generation, so should we burn the cross too?
PS , can't stand Alan Jones etc
John Batman, known for "founding Melbourne" ought to be known for his massacres of Tasmanian Aboriginals and for stealing land from the Wurundjeri traditional owners of land that Melbourne was settled on.
Townsville is named after Robert Towns. Robert Towns should also be remembered for his "blackbirding" — the kidnapping of islanders to work in the sugar cane fields of north Queensland.
What a minute ....are you telling me that some thuggish fuckwit's fortunes were made on the suffering of others ?
How long has this been going on for ?
Exclusive to white people , no doubt.
No blackfella would have ever tried that on in the last 60,000 years.
Wanker. As always.
What's the name of the area/town/suburb/street you live in/have lived in/ wanna live in/worked in/ jerked in/twerked in?
University you didn't go to? Bank you don't use? Etc etc etc
Of course, dummy, you know I don't literally wanna know any of this, yeah?
I actually think the balance in Australia is pretty good in regards to place names between the recognition of non indigenous names and indigenous names, I'm not sure about where you guys live but the numerous places i have lived that include VIC, TAS, NSW, QLD the mix has been often fairly even for names, actually most of the places I've lived have been Aboriginal names.
It's actually quite surprising really with the attitudes back then (or what people tell us) that they adopted Aboriginal place names, you would have expected them just to give english names?
Wonder how it all came about?
Why they recognised the Aboriginal names instead of renaming English names?
Not at all saying its a bad thing, i think its good, just surprising and interesting it happened.
anyone know where I can rent a burqa for the weekend?
Maybe check EBay for an old KKK hood and cloak and just dye it black.
Both were created with the same divisive intent and the urge to segregate people into opposing groupings of ideological delineation . Not to mention the desire to pychologically manipulate members of society and provide a visually obvious means of dominating them.
Shouldn't be too much of a stretch to get away with.
Who got a thesaurus for Father's Day?
Now, now, now shats, 'the great eastern stui' himself, a literal genius himself, the man that openly flogged legends on their twinnies, including gronks like craike, the man that exposed Joel Fitz as a kook, the alpha dog, and part time desert enforcer, the man that is contemporary surfing, has openly mentored and praised his sniveling, grovelling pupil, his double decker driveling swillnut blowie, and on many occasions cited his literal and academic brilliance! And I know, like "Buddy', perhaps I've gone too far without a full stop, gone too long, but what a finish!
Indo, you are guilty, as are your driveling clan. Even you, of all people, even became a fitness master. You and your squad of smashed crabbed, crippled, swillnutting double decker blowie driveling idiots. Imagine putting stupe's smashed crabbed dream team, stupey's angels, to work in the fitness world for a day, giving you 8 clients of all types to train, to demonstrate your 'expertise' on for a day, Absolutely fucking hilarious, can you imagine the absolute fucking ludicrous comedy of it!!! The beyond ludicrous, fucking swillnutting, fucking debacle. Of course you can, you are it!!!

Speaking of stupey's angels!!! Now, now now, goofball, remember when you loved me! You just figure out what colour fins to put on your monstrous craft, and how to do the fabled padang to ulus death paddle. And see if you can figure out how to turn the the gargantuan thing, even a few degrees will do!!! And don't take off too late!!!
Speaking of take offs, they're calling me, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again and again and again and again... (did I say again)! Up up and away!!! How did i even get in this conversation?
I never ever mention fitness, its one area where i kind of respect your views, i know nothing of fitness, i wish i could get motivated though as I've put on a few KG.
I kind of respect that side of you or anyone that can be motivated to exercise just for the point of exercising, i find it so boring but wish i didn't.
BTW. i saw a women at the market in Dandenong the other day with a burqua or maybe it was a Niqab it was kind of in-between couldn't see her face though, i was waiting for my missus so did a bit of people watching with her, to be honest she didn't look oppressed like the full black robe ones I've seen in Indonesia that look like servants of the men, actually looked the opposite in this case she had her little middle eastern guy following her around and from the body language she looked like she was wearing the pants so to speak.
It was quite crowded and was thinking maybe i will accidentally go bump into her and say sorry etc and see if she will interact with me and see the reaction of her husband, but by that time my missus had finished.
"It was quite crowded and was thinking maybe i will accidentally go bump into her and say sorry etc and see if she will interact with me and see the reaction of her husband..."
Is it just me, or is this just a bit, erm, mental?
Why is it mental?
It's not what id normally do but most of us have never met a women in a burqa or niqab, i just thought it would kind of be cool to have a random interaction to see how she reacted and how her husband reacted.
Sure is multicultural these days old Dandenong, great place to get a feed though love trying all the different food.
Why didn't you just go up and say g'day? Or even think of doing that, rather then deliberately bumping into her just so you can see her and her husband's reaction??
