It's getting to my home insurance renewal time and rates have gone through the roof. The cheapest cover I'm offered with flood protection is approx. $10k. Which makes me want to spew. With La Nina on it's way out, is anyone else planning to forgo the flood cover? It should be a lot drier right?
I'm in Currumbin Qld about 400m the creek. Over the last few years, only one day did rain settle a foot deep on my street during peak high tide and was gone in hours as the tide dropped. It'd have to be two foot more to reach the floor of my house .........
A big part of it too is apparently the cost of rebuild has gone up 40%.
