Amazing goal by Caddy.

Look at us
10 behinds
Half of them were from easy set shots
Talk about give em a sniff

Looking old and slow bizarrely.

Far out
We got there in the end but that was a messy grapple in the last quarter
Well done Bombers

UP THE MIGHTY BOMBERS.
Happy to sacrifice 4 points to the lions.
The first time i ever saw or heard of Buddy Franklin was watching a live game at the Gabba, Lions V Hawks...back in 2009ish? First time iBuddy ever registered on my radar was from way across on the other wing, and i saw...presence. Ive seen alot of ive footy but presence in a stadium is a rare thing to see.
Tonight, on the same ground, through the TV i saw indisputably the same thing from Nate Caddy. He arrived tonight in full HD.
Didn't get the W but won the day in my opinion. A team of groms just frothing to take up the fight.

Lions weren’t onto that bleached blonde pretender. Better be next time. And every other team.

hehehe. I'd be salty too @seeds ;-)
Even BT is in the Brisbane rooms and the main topic is Nate Caddy.

Well done also. @seeds.
No one ever deserves a win, because if you did, you'd win.
Class won in the end.

One consolation is we aren’t at our best for the whole games we play. Case in point the first quarter. If we can string a few quarters together into the second half of the year we are contenders.

Truth be told Caddy is the real deal. Big up front but great off the ground and so fast on his feet.

Don't worry @seeds. You'll be well in contention years end for a flag. No need to be premiership favourites right now. Just tick off the wins.
On that....i love the Lions, i support them every other week,...but it's funny how much spite i have for them as soon as the Dons face them. Players i adore....are the enemy!! The wierdness of the human psyche!!

Let’s hope Collingwood lose this weekend

Dooday, Stacevich and Kadine Cole to come back into the Lions team @seeds. That's frightening!!
Dooday is incredible and hasnt' even hit the park for the Lions in 2 years yet due to injury.
Watch that space. ;-)

haha agreeed @seeds!!

And McInerney rucking.

I put 10 bucks in the 2023 GF for Cole to take the Normy (my only bet) and he nearly bloody won it.

The big O is the man.

It turned into an intriguing match after looking like a blow out in the first. Caddy was good, but so was Lohman. The Bombers rebound from defensive 50 was astounding, the Lions couldn't lay a hand on them. Lots of dropped marks that would normally be givens. Fun to watch as a neutral.

was there live as I usually am, and he was very impressive. Big body with elite agility and speed. Burned Lions defense over and over.
The Brisbane crowd are a funny bunch, not a lot of atmosphere with just an expectation they will see the Lions prevail, the bombers fans were twice as loud. Crowd seems to only amp up in top of table clashes these days. Thursday night also a factor.

Lions last quarter 8 behinds. Crows 5 goals straight.
Get fooked.
Lions were fucking hopeless tonight despite the close score.

Did someone say Collingwood lose recently?
Must have been a typo.
Maybe i was dreaming, carry on. AW

Great comeback and win by Adelaide but yeah Brisbane torched it a bit.

Lions are getting fast starts but then run over in the latter stages. It's weird they seem to lose confidence.
As for the pies, don't crow too soon Alfred. It's been a good start but plenty of time to come unstuck, particularly with all those aging hamstrings running around.

Run over score wise but Lions still had majority of forward 50’s in the last quarter but couldn’t even kick one.

No. Ark, ark, ark here Blackers, no Raven on either, nothing to Crow about really, I don’t want to get the Blue Jays or hang out in a Rook either.
Bit of a Corvids theme and fun.
Hope ya well mate.
At Collingwood we never get ahead of ourselves.
Plenty of time to pump more teams. Go Pies. AW

Always the jackdaw, eh Alfred? Enjoy it while it’s lasts. Kind of good to see winter has arrived properly today.

Blackers. Hi mate.
Oh, yes, I could be described as a bit of a Jackdaw.
Winter certainly has arrived with fury, nothing pleasant outside here today.
Bit of a head fuck, alas, the same time last week, I was just getting out of the relatively warm water in Torquay after enjoying 5ft of clean almost windless waves with the day temperature rising to 19c. Certainly a contrast. Can’t complain, what a period of weather we had.
Started with the first two weeks of November last year and ended last Saturday, not too shabby at all.
I see Victoria had its warmest Autumn on record. Doesn’t forbode well for farmers.
The Tigers are/were up and about , shame they never got over the line last week, but they show good promise. All the best. AW
I’m a curious guy, you mentioned somewhere about a board being too small for you.
Is it too brazen to ask what length boards you ride ? Genuinely interested.

Yes it has been something of a turn around and the end of an amazing run of waves, predictions for light winds tomorrow so maybe an option then.
As for boards, the volume of that Fletch C step deck was the concern. I am about to turn 59, and bigger than most at 6’5” and 95 kg, I haven’t surfed anything sub 40L in the last 10 years. Lengthwise, I have a range of boards between 6’4”(an egg hull) and 9’7”(mal) but usually ride in 6’10” to 7’2” range, twins for the most part. The recent delivery from up north was a 7’6”. Got hooked on the lazy boy mid twin thing about 7 years ago and have not looked back.

Erm scotch that light wind forecast. Wasn't paying attention.

Blackers. Thanks for sharing mate, you’ve got quite a range of boards.
I think I know that feeling, you/we have a small bevy of boards but we often go back to a regular trusted and tried one.
I think 11c is the forecast for tomorrow, winds over here look favourable, there is swell inbound, but I think the wind speed and chill will be right up there. Rubber up. AW

It's going to be a long winter. It was a shocker after quarter time for the Tigers. An uninspiring match to watch, I went out and pruned dead wood.
The current match, Cats vs Suns is a slog but entertaining. Dangerfield to Ollie Dempsey in Q4 was a thing of beauty. Pinpoint kick and superb contested mark.
Season starting this week so we need a thread to document Collingwood's run to its it's 17th premiership and the year Nick Daico's wins his first of four brownlow medal's.
