SE tradewinds in the Coral Sea remain widespread through the week, slowly contracting north and weakening into the end of the week. That should see a slow roll in size for CQ with surfable waves slowly easing back to tiny by Thurs.
Models show a strong rebuild in wind-speeds through the fetch on Thurs with surf expected to peak in the 4-6ft range
After a much more settled, stable May the first week of June is looking like a temporary back-slide into a more La Niña-esque pattern. A huge (1035hPa) high is sitting E of Tasmania with a low pressure system straddling New Zealand. The high is directing moist onshore winds right up the Eastern Seaboard, while the low has several swell producing fetches associated with it, albeit nothing too major.
Easing surf with winds out of the northern quadrant. An inconsistent but good W/SW groundswell is due on the weekend.
The coming days will be poor in the South West with a couple of windows to the north. Later week an XL groundswell is due.
