Easing W/SW swell with good winds for the beaches for most of the week, but only worth surfing Tuesday and Wednesday.

Jeez, next week looks very exciting.
In Wednesday’s notes I mentioned a possible tropical depression near New Caledonia early next week that had the potential to generate a stronger E/NE groundswell for the second half of next week. Fortunately, the models have come inline with this thinking and they’re expecting a substantial easterly dip to form between SE Qld and New Caledonia around Tuesday.
Small most of the weekend, bigger out of the NE next week, with a temporary S'ly change Monday afternoon.
No significant swells over the coming forecast period.
Large long-period SW groundswell building tomorrow with S/SE winds, easing Sunday as S/SE winds persist. Easing and clean Monday morning ahead of a W'ly change. Good new swell building Tuesday, cleanest as it eases.
Small surf over the weekend, cleanest down South Christmas morning. Strong new swell for Monday with variable tending S/SE winds as a low moves in from the north-west.
Small inconsistent background W/SW swell with favourable winds for the Mornington Peninsula each morning. Strong inconsistent W/SW swell building Monday but the window for clean conditions and size will be very limited.
Easing NW swell over the coming days ahead of a large, powerful and long period NW groundswell Sunday, peaking into the afternoon and easing next week.
Plenty of decent windows of good conditions with a lully E'ly swell, initially reaching a peak around Sun but with more swell due through all of next week (I'm yet to see a definitive break in the pattern).
