Western Australia Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 7th November)

Best Days: South West swell magnets tomorrow, Friday morning, Sunday morning, Monday morning, Mandurah tomorrow morning

Recap

Building onshore poor surf through yesterday across all locations, becoming large in the South West and improving later with winds swinging more S/SW.

The largest of the groundswell was from a S/SW direction so Mandurah and Perth didn't see as much size comparatively if the swell was more west, but winds swung offshore this morning with pumping 6-8ft surf in the South West, 2-3ft in Mandurah and a small 2ft or so in Perth.

Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl

This week and weekend (Nov 6 - 11)

The swell will continue to ease off through tomorrow leaving tiny waves in Perth and small 1-2ft sets in Mandurah, but the South West magnets should be fun with sets to 4ft with a light morning E/SE offshore.

A small and weak SW swell is expected on Friday, generated by a small front pushing in from the west, but we're looking at 3ft to maybe 4ft sets across the South West magnets, tiny to the north.

Winds look to shift more SE across Margs on Friday morning, if not E/SE for periods, stronger from the S/SE into the afternoon.

Saturday morning will be smaller and not as clean with a cross-shore S/SE breeze making it a lay day.

We've had a slight upgrade in a new S/SW groundswell due Sunday, with a polar low forming south-west of us this evening expected to produced a burst of fairly fast moving severe-gale W'ly winds.

This should produce a fun spike in S/SW groundswell Sunday to 4-5ft+ across the South West, though tiny in Perth and Mandurah.

Winds are looking a little dicey with a light S/SE'ly possibly but we'll most likely see a morning SE offshore ahead of sea breezes.

Small surf is due into next week with no major frontal activity developing in our swell window. Winds look generally good and offshore each morning besides Tuesday, but you'll have to hit up the South West swell magnets.

With Gary busy on his pre-event manscaping & tanning routine in preparation for his dancefloor exploits down south this Friday night, you better believe that Saturday is going to be a lay day, Craig.

The big question is: for whom?
