Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 24th January)

Best Days: Tuesday, Wednesday morning

Recap

No surf over the weekend, but this morning we've seen a fun new W/SW swell with clean conditions.

This week and weekend (Jan 28 – Feb 2)

Today's swell should be backed up by a secondary pulse of W/SW groundswell, though this one slightly more west in direction but with more size.

What is likely to result is a continuation of 2ft sets across Clifton tomorrow morning, if not for the odd bigger one, easing later in the day and then down from 1ft to possibly 2ft Wednesday morning.

Make the most of this swell as beyond this there's nothing of note at all until next week.

Winds look good tomorrow with a fresh N/NW offshore, shifting W/NW through the day and holding until the early evening, N/NW Wednesday morning ahead of sea breezes.

Longer term we may see a broad low forming south-east of New Zealand, with a fetch of S/SE gales being projected through our swell window on the weekend. A good S/SE swell would be seen from this source early-mid next week, but more on this Wednesday.
