Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 1st November)

Best Days: No good days

Recap

Tiny surf yesterday and similar today.

This weekend and next week (Nov 2 - 8)

The outlook is still for tiny surf over the coming period.

A strong low that formed south of WA generated a fetch that was too west and too north to provide any real swell tomorrow. A tiny 1ft wave may be seen through the day, near flat Sunday. Conditions look generally clean.

Unfortunately the weak front that was possibly bringing 1-2ft of W/SW swell for later Monday and Tuesday morning is now looking even weaker.

With this, no significant size is due at all now, with a tiny 1ft wave Monday, possibly coming in at 1-1.5ft Tuesday morning. Conditions will again be clean though with offshore winds.

Longer term a stronger mid-latitude frontal progression is forecast to move in and towards us next week, but it will again sit too far north and out of our swell window.

Once the progression moves across us late in the week we may see more swell potential but with less favourable winds. More on this Monday though. Have a great weekend!
