Plenty of options for a surf as we head deeper into spring across the state.

We’re now well into the very mobile Spring pattern identified in Mon’s notes. Weak high pressure is currently over NSW and in the process of migrating into the Tasman sea and a series of fronts tied to a complex area of low pressure SE and SW of Tasmania are lined up to sweep across the SE of the continent and into the Tasman sea.

Onshore, offshore, up, down. That's the gist of the coming period so try and pick the windows.
Good waves today and into the end of the week but in between fairly poor with average winds.
The low near the South Island has had a fetch of ESE winds towards Tasmania, not ideally aligned but radial spread from the source fetch should see surf in the fun size range through Tuesday.
Nothing too special this period with a fading S/SE swell tomorrow, then tiny ahead of some possible swell from Sunday.
We've got a fun swell for tomorrow with workable winds, cleaner Wednesday while the swell for late in the week has been downgraded and delayed a little.
This week is looking much more like a classic spring pattern. The ingredients are weak, mobile high pressure at sub-tropical latitudes and a series of troughs and weaker fronts tied a complex area of low pressure in the Southern Tasman and near Southern Ocean.
