Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 27th March)

Best Days: Sunday northern corners, Monday morning

Recap

A fun new pulse of S'ly swells yesterday with morning offshores and good winds into the afternoon for south magnets, back to 1-2ft today.

This weekend and next week (Mar 28 – Apr 3)

Come the weekend there isn't much in the way of S'ly swell due to be left with background energy maybe offering the odd random 1-2ft stray set tomorrow, fading Sunday.

We then look at the N/NE windswell event for Sunday with strengthening N/NE winds due to develop down the coast later tomorrow, kicking up a late increase in size but Sunday will see the energy with sets to 3ft due to develop across the north-east facing beaches. It might be a little undersized early but will fill in through the day.

Locally winds still look dicey and N/NW early, gusty N/NE into the afternoon, with Monday seeing N/NW tending W/NW winds as the N/NE swell fades from 2ft to possibly 3ft.

Following this the inland low that was possibly forecast to drop south-east across us later in the week now looks a little iffy with just a small and weak E-NE windswell on the cards late week. More on this Monday though. Have a great weekend!
