Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 24th February)

Best Days: Early each morning open beaches from next Tuesday through most of next week

Recap

A good NE windswell to 3ft yesterday morning with the offshore change moving in early. Conditions were great all day, while today there wasn't much size at all left on the coast.

This weekend and next week (Feb 25 – Mar 3)

A S'ly change due this evening will be very weak in nature and hardly produce any swell at all on the coast tomorrow.

We then look on into next week for surf, with some small and persistent NE windswell due to build from Monday as a slow moving high pressure system shifts across the southern Tasman Sea.

This will see a weak but persistent fetch of E/NE trades and local NE winds aimed through our swell window from Monday afternoon/evening through most of next week.

Wind strengths aren't expected to reach anything significant and with this we'll just see persistent amounts of NE swell to 2ft or so across the coast from Tuesday.

Conditions will be best each morning with early light N/NW breezes, giving into N/NE winds mid-late morning, freshening into the afternoons.

There is potential for a low to form in the trade-flow the following week, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
