Possibly some just rideable surf developing over the weekend as trough deepens
Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri 30 May)
This weekend and next week (May31-Jun8)
Central QLD:Possibly some just rideable surf developing over the weekend as trough deepens
Flat for now
May see some rideable surf over the weekend.
Not much happening recently but a trough off the CQ coast is expected to deepen o/night into tomorrow as high pressure moves from the Bight over NSW.
We may see some small, just rideable surf develop into Sun from winds feeding into the trough and then later Tues from winds into a separate trough near New Caledonia. There are weak fetches so bring a longboard and keep expectations low but we may see some rideable waves on low tides.
Into next week and low pressure sits in the Tasman while the Coral Sea remains lifeless.
Nothing of interest in the Coral Sea
We may see some SE winds develop in the Coral Sea late next week with potential for some minor surf but the tradewind band is now moving north so expect tiny/flat surf as we move into winter.
Check back Mon for the latest and have a great weekend!
