Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued 7th April)

Best Days: Swell magnets over the coming period (tiny elsewhere)

This week and weekend (Apr 8 - 12)

Some very inconsistent S/SW groundswell has kept exposed breaks topped up with fun waves through yesterday and into this morning with early light variable tending offshore breezes.

A drop back in size is due through tomorrow ahead of some very long-range and inconsistent S/SW swell through Thursday and Friday but only to 3-4ft+ across swell magnets, backing off through Saturday and further Sunday.

Winds will remain favourable and variable each morning with weak E/SE trades into the afternoons.

Next week onwards (Apr 13 onwards)

Into next week there's nothing major at all on the cards early with infrequent levels of background swell to 2-3ft+ due across exposed breaks with favourable winds.

Longer term we should see some better SW groundswell from Thursday onwards as the westerly storm track starts to kick back into gear over the weekend, under the influence of the Long Wave Trough. More on this in Thursday's update though.
