As Steve Hare launched himself into a throaty bowl at Shark Island, he wouldn't have known that his exploits were to be documented in a three way splt covering the entire breadth of Bate Bay. With Darryl Menzies perched on the point, tightly framing 6ft bowls out of the east, Luke Shadbolt held position with his water housing off Surge, his fisheye perspective showing Steve's arm-in-the-wall braking technique whilst already positioned off the foamball.

At the same time, Fluidzone editor Phil Gallagher focused a large lens from the other side of the Bay, capturing the sheer volume of water about to unload across the reef and the rider.
