A measure of how much Skeleton Bay has captured our imagination is how it's inverted the image of ideal surroundings.

The popular interpretation is a tropical reef pass, lucent blue waves brushed clean by warm tradewinds, palm trees swaying on the point.

Now listen as Matt Bromley, standing beneath steel-grey skies, waxes lyrical about the possibility of "big, brown pits".

Is anyone else finding that Skeleton Bay is losing its shine? I rarely click on a SB clip nowadays.
