Watch: Noa Mizuno // War with the Senses
Think of how the idea of the perfect barrel has changed over the years. From trimming through a section while standing as still as a statue, to well-timed bottom turns that'd place the surfer deep in the section, to multi-fin boards and their ability to break the rail line and pump through steep sections, to this...
There are no easy sections here at frantic Kandui. Noa Mizuno has to constantly pump and adjust as the wave doesn't so much peel as link random sections, each with different angles that have to be responded to as they appear.

That was some impressive tube wrangling.
I read elsewhere today that he was on a 5’7 and 5’9 out there. I wonder how it would of looked if he was on a 7’0 tube shooter? Maybe not so much pumping and weaving? I dunno
wave good. track not.
That was bullshit.
Threading.
Reminds me a lot of Lachie Caldwell.
If there’s one guy who has his local completely wired it’s him eh
The term waterman gets thrown around a bit and is mostly a wank , but Lachie is the real deal .
Nice fella too.
Hectic. Serious stuff. Nah their movie, their music. All good.
That board was only just hanging in.
Insane good
Do they still do invites to pipe masters???
Great waves and surfing. Sound track goes well on mute.
I hated that, arms everywhere, unnecessary pumping - suggest the kid watch some videos of great goofy foots and get some style. Kandui at that size is not as hard as he makes it look.
Unecessary pumping? He's coming from deeper on the reef so he's got to get going.
5'7 might be too short but no way you can ride a 7'0 when the inside is stepping out like that.
Google camel tube north west wa.
You’ll see that a 7’0” board can absolutely be ridden in waves like that
That camel tube is something else
As Martin Potter would say;- WOW
That was heavy Kandui, more like a series of messy slabs, the surfing was incredible, never giving up
