Fairgrounds Festival lineup announcement

Picture this: sun-soaked hangs by the pool, lunchtime feasts under a canopy of trees, dusty fingers unearthing long lost vinyl, and countless moments discovering incredible live music. Experience all this and more at Fairgrounds 2017 – an adventure for the senses!

Your weekend at Berry will be soundtracked by a gang of rock trailblazers, cosmopolitan party starters, kinetic pop crafters, and indie icons, all spread across the magnificent Main Stage and the up-close-and-personal Windmill Stage.

The lineup includes one of the premiere bands in Australia right now, Sydney’s formidable Gang of Youths as well as U.S indie-pop extraordinaires The Shins, marking their first visit to Australian shores since 2012. Joining them are Baltimore synth heroes Future Islands, Melbourne electro-pop revivalists Client Liaison, and Castlemaine prodigy D.D Dumbo. Also gracing the stage will be iconic Sydney rockers You Am I, beloved homegrown storytellers Holly Throsby and Jen Cloher, introspective Chicago emcee Noname, and Oregon experimentalist Japanese Breakfast. This is not to mention two of New Zealand’s most stunning exports in Auckland art-folk phenom Aldous Harding and Lyttelton troubadour Marlon Williams – plus many more.

The ankle-biters are in for a treat too. An oasis for little rockers, Little Fairgrounds is far from your typical playdate. A festival within a festival designed just for kids, there’s seriously cool indie Karaoke to be sung, magic shows, craft activities and big things to bounce on! The adults are covered too, with a parents’ room and child minding on offer.

There’s something for the whole tribe at Fairgrounds. We’re talking Games on the Green featuring competitive-streak inducing activities like the sack racing and tug-o-war.  Plus, the Fairgrounds swimming pool is here for all your refreshment needs so get ready to pop on your cozzie between bands.

Dry off and venture over to the Market and peruse new and vintage wares, bric-a-brac and the best local produce. Sample an incredible selection of food and treats, from vegan cupcakes to authentic Thai, and wash it all down with a fresh lemonade under the shade of the Market’s canopy of trees.

The Record Fair is back too, so prepare to unearth rare and collectable pieces of music history - bragging rights included!

The legendary Paperbark Camp Pop-Up Restaurant makes its return in 2017. Their ever-popular gourmet, long-table dining experience is back-dropped by an incredible Berry sunset, is in earshot of the Windmill Stage and boasts an amazing mouth-watering menu. This is a crowd fave, so book now to avoid food FOMO!

The food fare doesn’t stop there. Around the fest you’ll also find an incredible selection of tasty morsels to be consumed, from Cuban cantinas, delicious donuts and, of course, coffee.

Berry and surrounds has a bunch of accommodation options to choose from. Indulge your inner VIP at the Fairgrounds Pop Up Hotel, which includes an exclusive car park, pre-assembled tent accommodation and furnishings, complimentary brekky and guests-only pool access.

And there’s Rivercamp, Fairgrounds’ campsite catering for both Pitch Your Own (General Admission) camping as well as pre-assembled tent bookings. Fancy a refreshing dip? Rivercamp is nestled on a scenic woodland riverbank which is supervised by qualified lifeguards. You’ll feel a million miles from the city but you’ll actually only be a five-minute complimentary shuttle ride away from Fairgrounds.

If camping isn’t your Berry jam, her surrounds provide plenty of holiday-worthy options, from cabins in Kangaroo Valley to beach shacks in Shoalhaven. Your transport to Fairgrounds is sorted, with shuttles running from a bunch of different locations. Head to our website for more info!
