So they manage to show every wave caught but when Jamie O gets the only perfect 10 the camera is pointing at the ground... Wtf

Webcast has finished for the day but the whole day's footage (4 hours) is still available.

Yep, it was a really good day. I spoke to one bloke from the Sunny Coast and he said by far today was the best day of the season. Pipe was in its glory 8 to 10 feet with some really nice 12 foot bombs. Around 9.30 am the winds started to shift around to the sea breeze direction and we started to think it was all over. But by 10.30 you could feel the winds starting to blow trades. From 10.45 am it was all time.. Makua Rothman, Kala, Mark Mathews, Jamie O and Billy Kemper got high 9s. Then Bruce Irons showed us all that he is still as good as ever with a comment by a local next to me saying 'now that's the Brucey we remember'!! He surfed unreal!!

Loved watching this. Great surfing, great commentary and a relaxed vibe honouring the Duke! A refreshing contrast to the " other " contests..

Great to see the contest line up shared by a variety of surf craft, stand up, bodyboarding, longboarding, Sups, bodysurfing etc. A harmonious respectful display, all being equally worthy, in epic waves :-)

much more watchable than that other contest
how did the commentary team talk in american accents and manage to be entertaining rather than grating? Lessons for the other side
Even their shameless commercial opportunities seemed less crass.
maybe it is because it was all a bit local and homestyle but it was much more interesting

Loved it too.
Thought at one stage they were going to call for a round of applause for the tuck-shop ladies.
