On Sunday, at the same time Australia's East Coast was copping beautiful long-lined cyclone swell, the US West Coast was hit by a large, unruly north-west swell. A small group of locals, plus newly crowned Big Wave World Tour champ, Twiggy Baker, paddled Mavericks under grey skies and north winds.
