A fantastic watch!! Why are Australian surfers not winning anymore? I reckon this vid highlights why as much as any other reason. You don't need to speak Portuguese to understand it.

And by the way, watched The Right for a few hours this morning. As big as i've seen it. Was capping on a reef beyond the normal slab that i didn't even know existed. If that swell holds through til tomorrow, we're on like donkey kong!

Crazy how crowded it still is, would surely have to be mostly Bali crew doing strike missions???
I always thought of this wave as being one of the more well known waves in Indo(top 10), was such a focus in the 90s with boat trips before the Mentawai's blew up.
So quick to get there out of Serangan on the Fast boat with 650HP
so add another 10 ? surfers to that.
EG : Fast = Sanur To G land 1hr 45 !

@udo , boat owners I know are just private , most of the crowds down that way are the boys from brazil staying in camps. The last slow boat was dreamweaver and Al sold it just before covid hit , it was brought by a Indonesian and not used for surf charters.

Ok cheers for that udo , haven’t seen Troy since July 2018 when he was first telling me about the boat he was building , that thing is a weapon and cuts through swell with ease .

"Heavy Water" Kinda a doco on Nathan Fletcher. It's pretty epic. I got the free 1 month trial on Amazon Prime and watched it.
Always been one of my favourite surfers to watch. One of those figures in surfing that's been in the thick of so many pivotal moments in the history of wave riding and has been right at the frontier of so many aspects of it. The Fletcher family will be ingrained in surf history for ever.
This film goes some unexpected places. It's not the best one i've ever seen, but in the current climate of WSL and wave pools etc etc, it's a standout.
