For everything all of us type here, it's best described as a giant anger just under the surface that will propel this movement forward. Ie, something with a lot of energy, not a lot of centralised direction, powered by a feeling of betrayal/loss. It's happening worldwide.

just had a quick look... $250k and under... 2 properties available... a 1 bedroom unit and a 2 bedroom unit... $210 - $250k

SE Qld - a prime example of both how over-population can stuff a place and how infrastructure and services have no hope of keeping up.

Quite a few have become agitated to say the least, about the proposal but there is no indication that there is any truth in the claims: at this stage!
Van Onselen continues to complain about immigration particularly Indian immigration, and seems to take delight in winding everyone up. Take a look at the comments on his YT videos.
Indian immigration between 2013 and 2023 more than doubled: if they overwhelmingly voted ALP in 2019 and 2022 then there is an obvious reason for it given the state of the LNP. Figures quoted for the 2022 election are not far off the TPP result but he did combine Labor and the Greens to get his 58%. The 85% vote Labor claim sounds absurd but if true, is completely understandable given the state of the Coalition. And don’t forget anyone who moved here post Covid cannot vote until at least 2026: you have to reside here for four years before you are eligible for citizenship. I tend to put Samaras’s claim in the BS category.
I pointed out to LVO many weeks ago, the AIECTA was negotiated under LNP government by Dan Tehan. This would have to be one of their few positive achievements over the last 25 years. It gave Australian exporters access to a market of 1.3 billion with tariff reductions etc, and is worth billions to us. But the other side of that deal was immigration. And Albo has further extended on that. I asked LVO if he wants to eliminate Indian immigration, he should come up with another market of 1.3 billion we can service. I’ve not received a response.
His claims of Gerrymander by immigration are nonsense. Urban planning and construction can take 10 years or more, the AEC redistribute boundaries and State Governments change. Shovelling people into specific locations on the basis they will vote for you is absurd.
