Surfed as normal, wear a surfcap and it’s good to go.
Sun avoidance is the main thing. It hurts more iin the sun. Cover up with common sense.
Ps. You look like a character from The Walking Dead.

FR I use a combination of Efudix and Daivobet creams. You need a prescription for both. I do the process twice a year which is 4 days of applying both creams in the morning and again at night. Efudix goes on first and then the Daivobet. Usually clears up after about two weeks then straight back in the water. The combination of creams works much faster than just the Efudix by itself. It’s important to stay out of the midday sun during and after the treatment.

Yeah, I have the combination cream O2- got it made up at a compounding chemist.
It's efudix and daivobet mixed together.
see how we go.

They're banned, as they should be.
Low-T Joe Rogan has been pumping himself full of testosterone for close to 20 years, and whether he's been taking straight HGH or just peptides (used to boost HGH), the side effects can be the same: Organ enlargement, screwed up hormone balance once you stop taking it, auto-immune reactions and increased risk of diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular diseases. (btw, his "bubble-gut" is a tell-tale sign of taking HGH).
So yeah, he's about the last guy I'd listen to when it comes to health advice. Or pretty much anything else for that matter.
Thanks for the feedback/ info Mick and Dash.
i ain't going to follow up with it. Injury is coming good- slowly but getting there.
cheers though

A mate's done a course of whatever that particular prescription peptide is twice. Had great recovery from footy, could bend down and pick up kids pain free a day later whereas normally couldn't for a week or two, however back to normal discomfort levels post treatments. Wouldn't do again. Possibly has it's place in targeted recovery from specific injuries, though not sure it's a great long term solution for anything.
*Edit. (He also got sick of booting up 2 or 3 times a day. It's a commitment. (Into stomach fat, not veins.))

Hows the wrangle and strangle going?
Jks aside this is a great thread.
Anyone got any routines there doing at the moment to increase paddle power and paddle stamina ?
I've probably padded up to 10 kms the last 2 days surfing a point break that's a 2 km paddle return trip ( have a guess if you like but no need to name it)
but my shoulders and arms are absolutely cooked today and the paddle back yesterday was an absolute punish. Im 35 and my 45 yr old mate kicked my ass on the way back. figure I got to do something as it only gets worse from here

Battle ropes and lots of it. You can get them from Kmart. More drawn out movements engaging those shoulders. If im not surfing i do 1 hour per day listening to a podcast.
Start with 5 - 10 mins, then keep building. Your paddling and overall endurance will come.
I look at it like running..... with your arms.

Cheers, will look into that. 1 hr on the battle ropes sounds torturous, will give it a crack though

Just like running, start slow. Set goals, don’t over do it and distract yourself with a podcast of good music

Just out if interest. How did it go, FR?

Any of you have (had) meniscus tears?
Swelling in left knee, and medial soreness, so went to physio fearing I'd torn my MCL. He was 90% sure it's a meniscus tear, hopefully minor.
Curious to hear of how you've dealt with this - rehab etc.

Island Bay. Hi mate.
Sorry to hear about your knee. You can join myself and Supafreak on the pensioners tour.
January this year another surfer contributed to me a partially torn left leg medial .
Fuck it hurt, it’s still giving me minor grief at present and when the both of us were at Lances Right recently, subconsciously always thinking about it when in the water, it plays on your mind. Am I going to damage it again is all you’re thinking.
Tearymasseuse our wonderful poster here on Swellnet put me on to a great exercise, Little Hindu Squats, it’s done wonders.
There’s good videos on YouTube by fitness and sport physiologists people.
You strengthen your own knee at your desired pace.
Give it a go, it works. AW

Thank you, AW. Will do some of those as soon as the swelling goes down a bit.
I reckon the damage was done late last winter when I caught an Outsides lip to the left knee and it buckled inwards a bit. As usual, I healed really quickly and then forgot all about it, but something must have aggravated it during my surfs on Tuesday or Wednesday.
If the pensioners' tour involves HT's, I'm in!
Edit: looked them up and got into them. Really enjoy the dynamic nature of them, and how you incorporate feet, legs, arms, balance and breathing. I liked the way this dude explained it:

Good stuff IB. I’m definitely going back to Lances Right next year, probably shoulder season, mid October, very few people around, still get consistent Southern Ocean swells rolling up from below the area spanning Capetown to Margaret River. AW
