We are looking for three (3) surfers to make a surf trip to Indian Ocean Indonesia in August - new location, not likely to be anyone surfing, prime season with steady SE monsoon dry season wind and consistent SW swell.

I have added this surfEXPLORE project to my listings on the Waverii platform, access via the link for details - thanks!

I feel a bit bad now, but thanks to burleigh it wasn't hard to find that point to the west of the creek/river mouth.

I reckon he is getting too old for this exploring caper. He figures he's got the runs on the board and deserves to capitalize on his colorful life and enjoy a comfortable retirement by selling books and exclusive online subscriptions to all the places he has raped and pillaged.
Makes my life look pretty boring really.

I met a kiwi yachty down rote last year , he was heading to Lombok when winds allowed for some much needed repairs that needed his catamaran to be dry docked . He goes up that way every year and surfs mostly by himself . There would be plenty of yachties that have been the first to surf many places in indo , they just don’t tell anyone about it . On Nusa Lembongan I know a guy who went there in 72 and showed Terry Fitz , Dick Hoole & others in 74 . Who’s to say my now deceased mate was a first as some yacht passing through may have been . As someone else said, being first isn’t that important to some as it is to others .

Aw not a hypocrite ... who in the past has started multiple threads about his own goings on,trips to cactus , now indo, flora and fauna etc etc but gets offended when someone else does .... "not even a paying subscriber "
Even burls is indignant!
Keep it up!

Your opinion fine. Still holding a gripe Mike, because I still find your moniker derogatory towards women.
Cactus is hardly a secret. What era are you living in ?
If you don’t like flora and fauna, don’t look at it. Those animals and plants are hardly new discoveries, I could post about rarities but that would not be ethical or in the interest of keeping those species preserved.
Each to their own I suppose, that’s what a forum is for.
Hypocritical is something that I’m not, always honest and upfront.
Demonstrative yes, I’m a sharer, sharing is learning.
Take it or leave it. All the best. AW

I discounted all the pink basesix as he stated Indian Ocean Indonesia (SW swell, SE trade winds). Unless he is telling porkies (highly likely) I've concentrated on the Indian Ocean region.

As Supa pointed out also, there wouldn't be any spots "never surfed" in the region as the amount of Aussies I know that have yatched (is that a word?) on their private boats through that region and surfed solo (only those on that boat) is too many to mention.

He only mentioned the Indo pacific region and put up those pics to claim that he's found and taken groups to unknown secret spots before and is not a complete wanker. Nothing to do with his mythical Indian ocean surf trip with 3 cashed up suckers. Thats how I read it anyway.
After burls detective work I homed straight in on that point with the river mouth in Indo pacific in 2 mins.

I think base six is just playing around , the pink bits being Christian dominated zones .

Hey @old-dog, on the 1st page of this thread, all he mentions is Indian Ocean Indonesia (SW swell, SE trade winds), he may have changed it through the thread but I can't be fucked looking through all that.

Burls did well finding it.

@ fitzroy-21, yep and now his very first link on page 1 with details about the Indian ocean Indo trip is showing error 404. That trip he did to Indo Pacific was in Feb. '24. I still reckon his target area would have been not too far from Jakarta.

There’s a huge coastline of waves south of krui , I haven’t been there since 2006 but was amazed by the endless river mouths , beaches & bays, lots to explore if you can be bothered and very consistent . Groundswell loved that area , not sure how south he went . End of the day if you’re keen , have the time , then $3000 USD will go along way and you won’t have someone telling you what to do & when to do it .

Yes, and there is all that remote area SE of Krui right around into Lampung area that is full of beachies, bays and points/reefs. Hardly a secret or never surfed.

EDIT, beat me to it @Supa !!

Yep, I don't think he ever said it was a secret or that no one had surfed it. just that no one is surfing it. Could be a b grade spot that no one bothers with because of difficult access and there are better places around. He said you can walk to the breaks and there must be some sort of basic accommodation.

I'll put someone else's money where my mouth is and guess the location. J(S)C seems like a good bloke so i'm sure he will let us know if I get it right...I reckon with our powers combined we can get very close relatively easily.

Given you live in Singapore the Indo-world is your oyster! You are merely a short flight to anywhere - Padang, Port Blair, Palau, Pitu. Being 70, I doubt it is anywhere too remote cos you would want easy access to your creature comforts (like other 70 year old ex pats) and maximise your profits from selling out. That rules out Nicobar/Andaman Islands (although i reckon you have been to North Sentinel Island spruiking your book).

So a cheap losmen arrangement on a nearby "mainland" island with a solitary left hand pointbreak/reefbreak that breaks into a SE tradewind, near an abundance of beachbreaks that work in similar/more marginal conditions nice. Let's say Sumatra.

Now, East or West? Central is dominated by Mentawai/Nias/Hinakos. Aceh in the north is a possibility but too well known after appearing in IndoSurf and Lingo some 30+ years ago. South Sumatra is a possibility but not Krui (too many Colonialists). There's gotta be a reason why people don't access it, and JC has "negotiated" access to it by crossing an official's palm with gold, perhaps. It may be in a National Park! But not Plengkung....

How bout it! JC's very own G-Land! You can name it JC-Land! Bill Boyum and Bob Laverty would be so proud of you!

I reckon ive got it in <5 mins.

Cancel my book order JC, i'm gunna be offline for the whole of August!

Funniest thing ever for the swellnet crew to lob up at this ‘secret, unsurfed’ location, set up camp at local lodgings and share the stoke in the line-up with JC and the euro crew.

Led by Supa, Burls, Fitz, AW and B6. And the other sleuths.

Fun all round.

Probably have significant change from $USD3000 too.

“Calhoun! You made it! Well done old chap! Get a few shots of this party wave will ya? You know, for posterity! Us Blowins reckon it’s way more fun to share a wave than watching only one fella tear it to the inside. You know how much property costs around here? Asking for a mate of course.”
