I can explain why this area may have avoided any surfers until now as there are well-known spots in the area that have been surfed for yonks. It will all become clear to you once you have made the commitment and forked the USD $1500 deposit and have access to the private Facebook group with ALL the information and plenty of supporting images.
I do profess to be an expert at this kind of thing - that's why I was offered a contract from a Publisher to produce a book, surfEXPLORE: Discovering New Surfing Locations Worldwide.
Would not have happened if I were a mere bullshit merchant, this publisher has been in business long enough to smell a rat if there is one.
Up to you - you can easily spend USD $3000 or more for a surf trip during prime season for Indian Ocean Indonesia and surf with crowds, heavy crowds in the Mentawai Islands, G-Land, Laki Peak, Nemerala, Desert Point and of course Bali - or you can travel to a new location where there are high-quality waves, a left point reef offshore on the SE wind as the main target spot and a righthander on the inside that would likely need a bigger swell plus several beachbreaks in the area we can check on smaller days - all with no one surfing at all.
I don't want to disappoint anyone, but I am not as obnoxious in real life as I am on Swellnet - I keep telling my minions to tone it down a bit with the postings, that some snowflake Australian might take umbrage, but they don't listen -

Many contributers were land owners. Took us 4 years and a lot of heartbreak to nearly complete, still a work in progress, @tbb has volunteered to edit. We are well aware of grey, we do our darndest to avoid and stamp out black and white thinking here in Aus. We like to think we have learned a thing or two. Especially from the USA's past, present a current projected trajectory.

Many people have the time, few people have the money.
Even when you present them with a valid surf trip to empty waves in Indian Ocean Indonesia, from a surf explorer with a new book coming out on exactly this subject, people still hesitate to commit.
Are all surfers sheep, in that they go where they are told to go and do what they are told to do, over and over?
They would rather spend USD $3000 on yet another Mentawai boat trip or trip to Laki Peak in Sumbawa, knowing full-well how crowded it will be in August but they do it anyway rather than try to visit a new area with a professional surf guide where they can surf high-quality waves with no one surfing?
Or expose something to the masses that could otherwise be kept sectret for those that know to enjoy in peace?

Now, if we can proceed with the discussion from people who are actually interested in making the project, rather than unnecessary distractions and attacks on my personal integrity, that would be much appreciated.
A deposit is required to show commitment - obviously, once you have seen the documentation on the location in the private Facebook group, you cannot unsee it, hence the request for a 50% payment for a deposit.
I don't do research for free, so if you decide this location is NOT for you and you would prefer to spend your money on a more crowded location that you have been to before so you can moan after the trip that "it's not like it used to be mate, now it's chokkas with Brazzos and Russians, completely fucked mate!" I make some money for my time to have done all the research and planning for this project.
That should be easy to understand -
Once you have made your deposit, have access to the private Facebook group and progressed through the information, then you need to be at the appointed place at the appointed time, where you will fork the balance of USD $1500, in cash and we will then proceed with the group to the main location.
