Updated: 2017-03-29 15:17:00 Surf: stormy 2-3ft SW Winds: Strong WNW Weather: drizzle Rating: 2/10

Afternoon Report: It's howling NW and the water is ripped to shreds....but there are waves. Hard to recommend anywhere under these conditions. Take your pick and lower your brow to the breeze.

2017-03-29 07:50:00: choppy 2-3ft SW, Fresh NW, overcast 3/10

A drop in size from yesterday arvos pumping pulse, down to chest high sets with choppy sort of junky conditions with 10 to 15 kt NW winds messing with it. Tide is heading out to a low at 12.15 with a big evening high at 6.30 pm. Winds will freshen during the day and tend W to SW so the arvo might jump up with stormy conditions so keep an eye on the southport cam for developments. Waves of varying quality all day though

2017-03-29 06:48:00: bumpy 2ft SW, Moderate NW, cool and cloudy 3/10

Dawn report: Surf size has pegged back a little from yesterday's strong swell, and winds are moderate NW and expected to freshen during the day. Right now we've got bumpy 2ft waves, it'll probably pulse throughout the day up towards 2-3ft but conditions will deteriorate as the onshore wind freshens. Tune back in for the updated photo report around 8am.
