The Maldives Surf Report is brought to you by World Surfaris and curated by Richard Kotch at Hudhuranfushi. At the beginning of each month during the winter surf season Rich will update swell conditions as well as bring you the best photos.

Following text and photos by Rich:

April is one of my favourite times to be at Lohis and one of the best times to visit the Maldives as a travelling surfer.

Waves are often fun and playful but the chance for bigger swells rises as the season kicks into gear. This is exactly what happened around the middle of April with four days of great waves in the 4-6ft range.

Ex-Championship Tour professional and all round great bloke, Kai Otton, showed up at Lohis in April along with QS surfer Ty Watson. The boys loved the Lohis fun park, proving yet again that Lohis is the go to surf resort for touring professionals and the everyday surfer looking for that perfect surf holiday escape.

Until next time,
Rich

Burn a little fire in the backyard, then plug your phone into it.

I could write a book there. I will bring my antishark devices, on my board and wrist and leg. I will also bring the my alter ego that can write. I will sit in the back with the chickens.

Ok, I don't need sit in the back with the chickens, but I love that metaphor?
