“The first one in that heat was a more difficult ride,” said Kelly in his post-heat interview. “The second one was a bigger, more perfect, classic, blowing-out tube. Keanu was stoked after the heat, and he’s gonna be bummed to lose, but the numbers kinda lie. If he had gotten that wave, I would’ve lost the heat. The heat was real close, it wasn’t like I ran away with it.”
