Conditions the last couple of days have been a little average with an easing swell through Tuesday that steadied Wednesday and is a touch smaller again today. Fresh onshore winds have developed in Margaret River this morning and should move further up the coast as the day progresses.
Fun levels of swell persisted yesterday across the South Arm, while today a new SW groundswell has filled in.
This week (Jan 2 – Jan 3)
A good increase in W/SW swell is due tomorrow as a vigorous mid-latitude low moves across us, aiming a fetch of W/SW gales into the South Arm. Winds will unfortunately swing onshore when the swell peaks into the afternoon.

The South Coast offered fun waves yesterday, and similar clean glassy waves today, while a new W/SW swell has filled in on the Mid offering good 1-1.5ft sets.

Happy New Year! A secondary pulse of S'ly groundswell in the wake of Monday's windswell kept solid 3ft+ waves hitting south facing beaches yesterday with variable winds during the morning ahead of a shallow SE change.
Today the swell was continuing above expectations with light NE winds that will freshen from the day.

The weekend didn't offer any real swell with a tiny NE windswell Saturday that peaked Sunday morning to 1-2ft.
Today a new S'ly swell was building across the coast, with tiny waves this morning expected to have lifted during the day to 1-2ft at open beaches and 3ft at south swell magnets.

The weekend started out tiny with a clean and tiny 1ft of swell but heading into Sunday a medium sized W/SW swell filled in as a deep and powerful low moved under us. Conditions were good in protected locations during the morning with a fresh W/NW breeze ahead of a swing to the W/SW during the afternoon.

There was only a small window of opportunity across the South Coast on Saturday morning with an early offshore and fun small swell before a strong S/SW change moved through at about 8am. This wrote off the surf for the rest of the day.
Friday's swell dipped away into Saturday leaving small clean waves across the Surf Coast best suited to the beaches, while the Mornington Peninsula saw great sized waves across the beaches. Winds strengthened from the NW around midday ahead of a strong to gale-force SW change, writing off the surf for the rest of the day.
