Semi-protected beaches east of Melbourne offered fun waves yesterday with a mix of easing SW groundswell and peaky SE windswell to 3ft. The Surf Coast saw average 2-3ft waves that eased during the day.

Small to medium levels of S/SE swell persisted across south facing beaches yesterday to 2ft to occasionally 3ft, but conditions remained less than perfect with a moderate E/NE wind which tending more NE during the day. Selected locations in the Illawarra again saw morning offshores before a fresh NE sea breeze kicked in.

Yesterday started off slow with some new S'ly swell starting to show across the coast. Today though a much better pulse of S/SE swell came in at 2-3ft across the region under light morning winds.
A new W'ly swell due yesterday again came in too west for the South Arm, with small 1-2ft waves at Clifton. This swell held a similar size into this morning with offshore winds but fresh sea breezes have since set in.

Both coasts dropped in size yesterday with poor conditions down South and tiny clean lines on the Mid. Today the surf has become effectively flat on the Mid while onshores have persisted down South with a moderate mix of swells.

Yesterday started off poor with tiny amounts of swell and strengthening onshore winds. An afternoon kick in windswell was seen across the Goldy, with a S'ly groundswell in the mid across the North Coast, but locations picking up the most size were poor, with tiny waves in protected spots.

A moderate pulse of S'ly swell was seen yesterday to a solid 4ft across south facing beaches during the morning but conditions were poor with a fresh onshore wind. The swell eased into the afternoon but a secondary pulse of S'ly swell has filled in today keeping 3ft to occasionally 4ft sets hitting south facing beaches.

Friday's strong pulse of W/SW groundswell eased back through the weekend under workable winds across most regions. Yesterday the swell was smaller again but with better winds across all regions.
Today an onshore wind is blowing across the state as the swell remained small leaving no real options for a decent surf.
