Large S/SW groundswell due later next week.
Large S/SW groundswell due later next week.
Lovely settled conditions at the moment with a broad area of high pressure in the Tasman and a broad but weak tradewind fetch just moving into a better position S and SW of New Caledonia. That will see some small E/NE swell develop through the end of this week into the weekend.
Make the most of the current swell as the coming period is very tiny and slow.
Winds at the southern extent of the fetch will supply some small sideband energy for NETas through next week.
The coming period is mostly onshore, windy and raw, but there are a couple of windows to try and work.
With good model agreement now there’s high confidence we’ll see a major winter swell event next week as a slow moving low takes up occupancy in the Central Tasman leading to a highly energised stormy sea state over a majority of the Tasman Sea.

We've got building westerly swells and increasing winds over the coming days, with next week being fun across more exposed coasts under lighter north-east winds.
We've got some inconsistent and tricky (weekend) west swells for the coming period with smaller surf and north winds next week.
The Maldives continue to pump with a larger swell on the cards for Indo late next week.
