There's been a change to the wind outlook into the end of the week, with better surf due next week.
Most locations are set to offer good waves this period, but with tricky winds in the Mentawais and across the Maldives.
Later Wednesday, the leading edge of a new long period groundswell is expected to arrive though we won’t see the main size increase until Thursday.
We've got some decent swell due this period but winds won't play ball.
High pressure remains a constant in the Tasman, with a reinforcing cell ready to slide under Tasmania late week. A heat low over NW Australia and trough are linked to a cut-off low in the Bight which gets squeezed out by high pressure. As a result workable trade swells for the sub-tropics continue through this week.
A fun, building swell with favourable winds is due tomorrow, dicey for the rest of the period down South and average inside the gulf.
E’ly winds feeding into the cut-off low are aimed directly at NETas and will produce sizier swells into Fri.
As a result, we’re looking at small NE windswells for temperate NSW, with workable trade swells for the sub-tropics and a marginal amount of that swell filtering down to temperate regions.
The coming period offers windows of fun surf between slightly flukey and dicey winds.
