Recap

Yesterday's small window of clean conditions in the South West, was just that with 6ft sets and workable waves before an onshore W'ly kicked in. Mandurah and Perth were better with fun 2ft sets.

This morning a reinforcing SW swell has kept 4-6ft waves hitting the South West and 1-2ft sets further north with less than ideal S/SE winds (strong in the South West from the S/SW tending S/SE).

This weekend and next week (Jul 11 – Jul 17)

A slightly better S/SW groundswell is due across the South West tomorrow, produced by a strong front pushing up towards us yesterday and this morning.

6ft sets are due across exposed breaks, with 2ft sets in Perth, easing into Sunday from 5ft and 1-2ft respectively.

Conditions should be clean with offshore winds tomorrow morning, tending variable into the afternoon, and then similar E/NE tending variable breezes Sunday.

Into Monday a new pulse of SW groundswell is due through the afternoon across the South West, less so in Perth, from a broad fetch of pre-frontal W/NW gales to our south-west today and tomorrow morning.

This should build to a small 4-5ft across exposed breaks in the South West, arriving late in Perth to 1-1.5ft. A secondary more S/SW pulse is then due into Tuesday morning, to a similar size. Winds will be good again Monday morning and from the E/NE tending variable across most spots.

Into Tuesday we may see some S/SW groundswell from a late developing low in our swell window, but of greater importance is a better S/SW groundswell due into Thursday from a flurry of strong but less than favourably aligned polar frontal activity.

The core wind speeds will help create a long-period S/SW groundswell for Thursday though, peaking in the South West during the afternoon in the 6ft+ range, with 1-2ft sets around Perth.

Beyond this there's nothing too major on the cards at all. We'll look at this again Monday though. Have a great weekend!
