The outlook for the state is fairly poor following tomorrow so get a surf in with a new swell and favourable winds.
There's a good pulse of swell due tomorrow, better than the models and forecast make it look, but following that conditions will be poor until next week.
With reinforcing high pressure now in the Tasman Sea, we’re on track for another round of NE windswell through Sat, as the pressure gradient gets tightened by an approaching trough complex and winds freshen in the East Tasmanian swell window.

The fetch out of Cook Strait, extending up past Taranaki Peninsula and into the Tasman sea looked good on ASCAT (satellite windspeed) passes through Wed/Thurs, with areas of storm force winds embedded in a long fetch of severe gales to low end gales. With the buoys and observations already confirming the swell it’s only local winds we’ll be concerned with.
