A trough in the Northern Tasman Sea is working in conjunction with an advancing high pressure system in the southwest, to maintain a fresh SE fetch through the central Tasman. This is generating a new SE swell that’s due to arrive this evening, before easing in size throughout Tuesday.
A southerly gruondswell is likely to fill in on Tuesday, however only the most exposed south swell magnets will see the size. Breezes look to be light and offshore each morning leading to plenty of options for a small but workable wave.
Fun kick in SW swell tomorrow with good winds, fading into the rest of the week, with a small S/SE pulse Friday and then better SW groundswell Sunday/Monday.
New W/SW swell tomorrow morning but with only a slim chance of an early offshore before NW winds kick in. Onshore and building stormy swell Wednesday, easing from Thursday afternoon and cleaning up Friday while continuing to ease.
The next few mornings are looking good to score a few small waves at open beaches, with Wednesday being the pick of the bunch with a fresh S'ly groundswell and offshore breezes potentially holding into the afternoon. The weekend has the potential to be big with embedded lows moving to the south, however confidence remains dicey.
Small clean waves at exposed breaks over the coming couple of days, with a new W'ly swell building Friday with increasing onshores, ahead of a secondary better W/SW swell for Saturday as onshore winds continue.
Small to tiny surf for the most part with periods of clean conditions across both coasts. Better SW swell due later Sunday and Monday with favourable winds for the Surf Coast at this stage.
