This system won’t be perfectly aligned for our region, but as its fetch will be working on an already active sea state, it will take less effort to kick up a decent groundswell - of which we’ll see some sideband energy glancing the coast throughout Wednesday, probably from lunchtime onwards.
A reinforcing pulse from the S/SE is expected later Wednesday and into Thursday, originating from a new low forming along the trough line in the SE Tasman Sea today.

Initially, open beaches look to be bumpy for the best part of the day with options in the 2-3ft range rolling in. Then, the south facing beaches become the focus, with the potential for wind affected options in the 3-4ft range on Sunday.

The fetch across the central/northern Tasman Sea will rotate slightly anti-clockwise today, veering more E/NE, which will shut down the swell supply for Far Northern NSW and SE Qld but still maintain plenty of surf across the Mid North Coast into Saturday.
