Probably my most favourite swell source for this weekend is another surface trough developing north of New Zealand later this week - in almost the same location as the source for the last round of E’ly swell Fri/Sat. More in the Forecaster Notes.
The short term forecast period is all about lully, inconsistent, long range E/NE swells. But there's a series of large S'ly swells on the cards too. More in the Forecaster Notes.

Good waves for beginners tomorrow ahead of building surf from Thursday, becoming large.
Make the most of the coming days as we'll see onshore winds and large onshore surf setting in through next week.
No lack of swell this week with strong pulses from the west and south but the local winds will become less favourable.
Swells from all directions on the way this period but winds will follow a similar pattern. It'll be about timing the windows.
This east swell looks pretty juicy right now. Interestingly, model guidance has this event peaking on Saturday with more size in the swell and more strength in the period, but to be honest I just can’t see it getting much bigger. More in the Forecaster Notes.
