Recap

Our expected inconsistent W/SW groundswell filled in to a fun 2ft through yesterday, good into the afternoon with the higher tide, while today the swell has faded back to 1-1.5ft.

This week and weekend (Aug 5 - 10)

We’ve got our larger W/SW groundswells on the way for the coming days, and a reinforcing pulse for Friday has been upgraded.

Firstly, a strong frontal progression firing up to the south-west of Western Australia earlier this week has generated a moderate sized W/SW groundsell for tomorrow, coming in at 3ft through the afternoon.

A secondary trailing frontal system that’s currently passing under the country should produce a reinforcing pulse of more consistent SW energy Friday to 3ft to possibly 4ft, easing back through Saturday from 2-3ft.

Local winds will be great and NW tending W/NW tomorrow with W/NW tending variable winds on Friday, shifting S’ly later. Variable NW winds should kick back in Saturday morning ahead of weak sea breezes with N tending fresh NE winds as the swell fades Sunday from 1-2ft.

Longer term the outlook is very slow for next week with the swell bottoming out so make the most of the coming energy.
