Best Days: Tuesday afternoon for a small and inconsistent SE groundswell.

Recap

Yesterday was excellent as Wednesday's late pulse of S/SE groundswell held in as winds swung offshore. Most spots were in the 4-5ft range with larger sets at swell magnets creating a great day of surf.

Today the swell was easing from 2-3ft across the coast, and into tomorrow there's not much expected to be left over, but more on this below.

This weekend and next week onwards (May 10 onwards)

Our recent run of S/SE swell linked to the low sitting off our coast will continue to fade through tomorrow with only a tiny 1ft+ wave due across open beaches, ideal for beginners.

Into next week there's only one significant increase in swell due and that will be through Tuesday. A funky polar low is stalling south-east of New Zealand and with this, a fetch of gale to severe-gale SE winds will be aimed through our swell window for a short period of time.

A small and inconsistent but fun SE groundswell should be generated, filling in Tuesday and peaking through the afternoon to a very inconsistent 2ft+ at open beaches during the afternoon. Conditions will be clean with a fresh NW'ly so make the most of this small pulse.

After this there's nothing major on the cards, but check back Monday for the next update. In the meantime have a great weekend!
