Easing surf this week, another round of waves next week
Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Mon 23rd June)
This week and next week (June23-July4)
Central QLD: Easing surf this week, another round of waves next week
High pressure is in the centre of the Tasman with a complex trough, front and low system approaching from south of the Bight. A retreating trade fetch gets supercharged by a developing trough and low in the South Pacific, reaching maximum intensity between Tongan and Tahitian longitudes. Despite the travel distance, we should see some quality long range E swell from this source.
Trade swells persist into tomorrow before easing becoming small from Thurs.
Surf rebuilds next week from a combination of Tradewinds as a new high pressure ridge builds over the weekend and long range E swell from a South Pacific low.
Source of fun waves next week
Expect fun waves again all next week from Mon.
Check back Wed for the latest.
