Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Sunday 3rd April)

Best Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, later Friday/Saturday morning

This week (Apr 4 - 8)

A very inconsistent S/SW groundswell kicked later yesterday and has held in this morning, with exposed breaks offering the best waves, while the reefs on the Bukit are still small.

A better and larger S/SW groundswell pulse is due through this afternoon and evening, peaking tomorrow morning across the region with inconsistent 6ft to occasionally 8ft sets across exposed breaks, smaller on the Bukit due to the southerly direction. This swell performed well in Western Australia this weekend, and we should see it also delivering across Indonesia.

Moderate to fresh E/SE trades will create clean conditions, lighter and more variable early morning, while as the swell slowly eases through Tuesday and Wednesday more variable winds are due throughout the entire day.

Tuesday should ease back from the 5-6ft range with the swell due to bottom out into Friday morning back to 2ft to possibly 3ft.

Unfortunately there's nothing significant at all for the end of the week/weekend and into early next week.

A large blocking high will deflect any major swell generating fronts away from us with background energy hardly getting above 4ft later Friday and Saturday morning, and then again maybe early next week.

Therefore make the most of the coming swell and check back here Tuesday for the latest update.
