The other compounding factor for Saturday will be the presence of gusty onshore winds in the wake of the front. Yes, they will ease back and veer more W’ly but surf quality will not be high.

We’re entering a windy wintry pattern for the next week or so, but the surf outlook isn't great for the South Arm.
A deep Southern Ocean low well to the SW of West Oz today is setting up a better long period groundswell that’ll arrive on Monday morning, and peak late in the day before easing through Tuesday.
The storm track is unfavourably aligned for the South Arm at the moment, so we’re looking at a quiet end to the surfing week.
The first will nose into Storm Bay early Tuesday, but probably not show properly until lunch time, with a second swell filling in behind on Wednesday.
