After issuing a swell alert for the east coast last Tuesday - "not big, but very well groomed," he said - Craig dialled in his observations through the latter parts of the working week. As Friday arvo drew near he scoped an ideal stretch of coast and hit the highway.

The surf pulsed in Sydney late yesterday owing to a low pressure system not far offshore. Although the swell peaked overnight this morning saw strong six foot plus lines on every beach open to the east. Swellnet forecaster, Craig Brokensha, drove Sydney's Northern Beaches shooting some of the reefs and ledges that lit up under the onslaught.
