Saquerama - Early Rounds

The Quiksilver Saquerama Prime has gone someway toward restroring faith in the Brazilian leg of the tour. The second day saw sets in the 10ft range wander into Itauna Beach, where the competition is held, but unfortunately it was under the blast of a relentless onshore wind. The last couple of days the swell has dropped, the wind has swung offshore (with afternoon seabreezes) and the lefthander in front of the scaffolding has started to light up.

The competition is down to the Quarter Finals and the winner should be decide in the next day.

The Hang Loose Pro

On the weekend young Brazilian, Miguel Pupo, won the Hang Loose Pro at Fernando de Noronha in Brazil. The Hang Loose was a PRIME event and the result rockets Pupo to the lead in the One World Ranking. Of greater interest than points - at least to spectators - was the incredible surf at the event. From 6'-8' offshore barrels on the first day the waves never dropped below 4' for the duration of the contest.
