Swellnet Dispatch

"When an 8-foot swell hit Hawaii’s Oahu we tracked its movements in various directions and finally zeroed in on a remote atoll many, many miles from the densely populated line-ups of the famed North Shore."

"Isolated, stinking hot and with limited entertainment other than breathing, there was really only one man we knew who could not only handle the pace (or lack thereof) and enjoy it."

"Enter Malibu’s Dillon Perillo. Part vagabond, part bon vivant – he was only too happy to put himself on a solo journey into the furnace and find … well… nothing really!"

I was wondering if he put sunscreen on. No was the answer. Good candidate for a bit of cancer.

Kiribati islanders for sure, boats used a give away. Kirimati atoll was used by british for nuclear testing in 1950's. It was unpopulated at the time unlike what the Americans did in Bikini Atoll and Rongelap Atoll in RMI. Not sure if Chuck Corrbett is still hosting surfers on Fanning Island which you have to get a inter-island ship to access from Kirimati. Lad says biggest atoll in world, believe that would be Kwajaelin in RMI. Kirimati atoll used to be a favourite holiday surf location for Rel Sunn and many other residents of Hawaii. Explore and respect.

Not much exploring required here with all the info given. Unless, of course, we're dealing with a red herring. Thank you tsunalu.

Spot on Hastoes. I have several mates who have been. If the waves are flat there's only fishing left. Water is in short supply.
