As a Cancer care nurse, one of the first people I cared for in the home, was a dude called Michael from Mt Ommaney in Brissy. Just before he died, his mum mentioned he was always a keen surfer, and we pulled out some old photo albums circa Michael Peterson era. I have been to many funerals, the words I remember most come from Michael's...as above, not the great MP's. His best mate said...'every time the Southeasterly blows, we will remember you, and I still do'...Way to go Sanga, Michael wasn't so lucky, he went out slow with a Syringe Driver. If I could plan my last moments, I'd be up for a long head dip too, Avoca is honored to have been your final resting place...s...

great surfer, a fine gentleman to boot.

Crazy fucker behind the wheel, he drove back from a Straddie trip one time, ducking, weaving & hitting 170-180, it was terrifying. 'think him and Ross had their own private top gear leaders board happening.

Loved a hash pipe.

I am very honored...I didn't even know this had happened at my local break.
Its very fitting that such a great surfer died at such a great beach.
Condolences to the family and friends of 'Sanga'
