haha, you guys are so funny

big on projection and propaganda, short on critical thinking, and trying to fathom any sense of reality out of this time of twisted realities...

then there's this gem...

"See you are still clinging to this insane infantile narrative of yours Sypkan. You'd burn your own house to the ground if you thought a democrat might get caught inside wouldn't you.

Sad how you'll just accept any information without question that attacks those you hate."

the projection is strong with this one

from the master of the 'infantile narrative'

bahahaha

serious question, why can you not discuss anything without getting all hostile? ...you try,,, god knows you've tried this run... but it always seeps out...

debate is good, why always with the hostility?

how anyone can be so beholden to the nyt 'infantile narrative' of propaganda I'll never know ...especially when so many real journalists have called it out for what it is, trash...

"And we can blame Trump for Biden, yes?"

no, I don't think we can, the dnc put bernie in the whitehouse (...no not that bernie! ...'the weekend at bernies' bernie...) because they've scared themselves shitless and are jumping at shadows.. still..., as I tried to make clear before, they are a mess, they have no idea what the public wants, or, they have no inclination to represent the public, one or the other... maybe both...

they are scared shitless of trump and his appeal. they are scared shitless of their radical base, they are scared shitless of their neoliberal overlords - and the failure of a system they've gone 'all in' on, and they are scared shitless of upsetting their billionaire donors and their copious amounts of dark money

all that fear means they cannot think straight, they cannot plan ahead and apply any over arching principles that a functioning political party needs, they are reactionary, stumbling from crisis to crisis ...even when they have the power!

and their litany of woeful decisions and no clear principles is evidence of that

they are the new 'reactionaries', desperately trying to maintain contested ground they believe to be already legitimately gained, ...whilst many people, many many people, were never on board with their many more fanciful 'ideas' anyway, so they are fighting to hold false ground ...constantly...

they'll do 'whatever it takes' to maintain power, then they have no clue whatsoever to do when they gain a bit... remind you of someone? ...something?

the public just wonders what the hell they are up to, and what the hell they stand for, ...many democrats wonder what the hell they are up to, and what the hell they stand for... hence the infighting and no clear agenda...

they're a fucking mess, even whilst in power

it's a bizarre state of affairs

“You all know who Adam Kinzinger is, I presume? He’s a Republican Congressman from Illinois who voted to impeach Trump. He’s one of ten Republicans in the House to do so, and they’re all catching hell for it now. Kinzinger has been censured by La Salle County Republicans. But he also received this (hand-written) letter signed by eleven members of his extended family:
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Adam,
.
Oh my, what a disappointment you are to us and to God! We were once so proud of your accomplishments! Instead, you go against your Christian principals (sic) and join the "devil's army." (Democrats and the fake news media). How do you call yourself a Christian when you join the "devils army" believing in abortion! We thought you were "smart" enough to see how the left is brainwashing so many "so called good people" including yourself and many other GOP members. You have even fallen for their socialism ideals! So, so, sad!
.
President Trump is not perfect, but neither are you or any of us for that matter! It is not for us to judge or be judged! But he is a Christian! (If God can forgive and use King David in the Bible, He can do the same with President Trump.) Franklin Graham, Robert Jeffress, to just name a few, of many Pastors, who mentor President Trump, know that he is a believer! Obviously, you did not hear President Trump's "Christmas Message" to the American people (fake news media did not cover his message) where he actually gave the plan of salvation, instructing people how to repent and ask the Savior into their heart to be "Born Again"! (To believe in John 3:16). When was the last time you proclaimed your faith Adam? (Oh, we forgot you now belong to the "devils army."). You won't convince us otherwise with your horrible, rude accusations of President Trump! (To embrace a party that believes in abortion and socialism is the ultimate sin.) We should list even more grievances against you, but decided you ae (sic) not worth more of our time to list them. We have said enough!
.
You should be very proud that you have lost the respect of Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Greg Kelly, etc. and most importantly in our book, Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh and us!
.
It is now most embarrassing to us that we are related to you. You have embarrassed the Kinzinger family name. We are not judging you. This letter is our opinion of you!
.
Oh, by the way, good luck in your fund raising (sic) endeavors. We are sure we know there are many others good GOP and Christian supporters, that feel the same way we do. Also very disappointed with the many other GOP have sided with the Democrats. (We should demand our money back!)
.
The following Kinzinger family members have asked that their names be added to this letter:
.
Signed [names redacted]
.
P.S. For your information, many more family members, feel the same as we do. They just didn't have the courage to sign our letter or write their own letter! Not us, we are throughly (sic) disgusted with you!! And, oh by the way, we are calling for your removal from office! I have received numerous calls concerning your actions and egregious behavior towards our President of the United States, Donald J. Trump!
.
CC: Many conservative Republicans.
.
*President Trump has done more for the American people in four years, than you, the Rino's (sic), and Democrates (sic) have done in years!!
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
These people have been steeped in an extreme right-wing perversion of Christianity, Fox News propaganda and Frank Luntz talking points. What’s scary about them, is just how typical they are of today’s GOP. If I were Adam, I’d seriously consider changing my surname.

It is scary, but really, if you think about it, the only way the republican party were going to be able to convince enough people that they actually act in their best interest was for them to go right off the deep end in terms of nuttiness.

Here are the documents.

https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.227101/gov.uscourts...

CNN contract is dated Jan 6th. The day of the event. Not before the event. ABC's is dated Feb 12th.

So, he was selling footage he had taken at the event.

Instead, you've said that he took the footage after negotiating a contract with CNN "to get an 'eye witness account' of the police officer shooting." Which is a very serious implication.

JS has 7 charges before him including aiding and abetting, disorderly and disruptive conduct etc etc. Our ABC are paying crew like this...

Look at the contract 'for providing a eyewitness video'. So tell me do you sign a contract like that before you give your eye witness video or after it? Then you have an interview with him and the CNN like he was just caught up in the wave.

A paid rioter, crisis actor or a reporter? Its a bit blurry with those charges.

So no, don't shoot the messenger.

thermalben's picture
thermalben's picture
thermalben Thursday, 18 Feb 2021 at 2:05pm

If you've got footage to sell, you send prospective buyers low-res or watermarked footage first (which can't be used for broadcast). If they like what they see, they buy it. The contract would have been signed that day because of the value of the content, relative to the news cycle (which correspondingly bumped up the price).

As for "Our ABC are paying crew like this" - they're buying content that was integral to their story. Sometimes this means you're buying from less scrupoulous sources.

So, you confirm that you were wrong when you said the contract was written before the event?

shortenism's picture
shortenism's picture
shortenism Thursday, 18 Feb 2021 at 2:21pm

For anyone to suggest it being signed before would suggest a deceptive stage play of massive proportions. Given the series of circumstances around this event though, it is difficult to determine beyond reasonable doubt whether it was signed before or after the actual event. I have my sources, hence my comment don't shoot the messenger.

Yes I agree its good to have inside info on these things but when he claimed he was with the media (and he clearly got paid by them) and then went on to participate in shit storming, the lines are blurred as to what his motivations for being there were.

the 'infantile narrative' of the new york times...

"...Condemning that riot does not allow, let alone require, echoing false claims in order to render the event more menacing and serious than it actually was. There is no circumstance or motive that justifies the dissemination of false claims by journalists. The more consequential the event, the less justified, and more harmful, serial journalistic falsehoods are.

Yet this is exactly what has happened, and continues to happen, since that riot almost seven weeks ago. And anyone who tries to correct these falsehoods is instantly attacked with the cynical accusation that if you want only truthful reporting about what happened, then you’re trying to “minimize” what happened and are likely an apologist for if not a full-fledged supporter of the protesters themselves."

"...One of the most significant of these falsehoods was the tale — endorsed over and over without any caveats by the media for more than a month — that Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick was murdered by the pro-Trump mob when they beat him to death with a fire extinguisher. That claim was first published by The New York Times on January 8 in an article headlined “Capitol Police Officer Dies From Injuries in Pro-Trump Rampage.” It cited “two [anonymous] law enforcement officials”

A second New York Times article from later that day — bearing the more dramatic headline: “He Dreamed of Being a Police Officer, Then Was Killed by a Pro-Trump Mob” — elaborated on that story:.."

"...this horrifying story about a pro-Trump mob beating a police officer to death with a fire extinguisher was repeated over and over, by multiple journalists on television, in print, and on social media. It became arguably the single most-emphasized and known story of this event, and understandably so.."

"...It took on such importance for a clear reason: Sicknick’s death was the only example the media had of the pro-Trump mob deliberately killing anyone. In a January 11 article detailing the five people who died on the day of the Capitol protest, the New York Times again told the Sicknick story: “Law enforcement officials said he had been ‘physically engaging with protesters’ and was struck in the head with a fire extinguisher.”

But none of the other four deaths were at the hands of the protesters: the only other person killed with deliberate violence was a pro-Trump protester, Ashli Babbitt,..."

"...After the media bombarded Americans with this story for a full month without pause, it took center stage at Trump’s impeachment process. As former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy noted, the article of impeachment itself stated that “Trump supporters ‘injured and killed law enforcement personnel.’” The House impeachment managers explicitly claimed on page 28 of their pretrial memorandum that “the insurrectionists killed a Capitol Police officer by striking him in the head with a fire extinguisher.”

Once the impeachment trial ended in an acquittal, President Joe Biden issued a statement and referenced this claim in the very first paragraph. Sicknick, said the President, lost “his life while protecting the Capitol from a violent, riotous mob on January 6, 2021.”

"...The problem with this story is that it is false in all respects. From the start, there was almost no evidence to substantiate it. The only basis were the two original New York Times articles asserting that this happened based on the claim of anonymous law enforcement officials.

Despite this alleged brutal murder taking place in one of the most surveilled buildings on the planet, filled that day with hundreds of cellphones taping the events, nobody saw video of it. No photographs depicted it. To this day, no autopsy report has been released. No details from any official source have been provided."

Not only was there no reason to believe this happened from the start, the little that was known should have caused doubt. On the same day the Times published its two articles with the “fire extinguisher” story, ProPublica published one that should have raised serious doubts about it.

The outlet interviewed Sicknick’s brother, who said that “Sicknick had texted [the family] Wednesday night to say that while he had been pepper-sprayed, he was in good spirits.” That obviously conflicted with the Times’ story that the mob “overpowered Sicknick” and “struck him in the head with a fire extinguisher,” after which, “with a bloody gash in his head, Mr. Sicknick was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support.”

But no matter. The fire extinguisher story was now a matter of lore...."

Aside from the silly generalisations, Blowin was %100 right when he said this. - To clarify, I'd say this for 2016, not so much for 2020.

'You know what they really are ? They’re American working class who lodged a protest vote against the outsourcing of their livelihoods to third world slave labour. They’re American working class who’ve watched their manufacturing towns deteriorate into opiate addicted squalor and futureless wastelands under the watch of establishment Republicans and Democrats alike. They’re regular working class Americans who know that they’ve been shafted and they watch inequality spread and the rich get richer whilst they watch their children’s living standards become worse than the generation before them.'

And all this makes Trumps legacy even worse as he has totally betrayed them and done practically nothing to help them whilst actively making things even worse for them (e.g his massive tax cuts). Now he's got all these people distracted with democracy shattering lies about stolen elections, made up socialists and a culture war that he's unleashed a pipelines worth of fuel onto.
