I for one feel his pain. Having seen my own coastline vegetation disappear over the last 35 years (dune care?) The small weatherboard houses have been replaced by architectural (designed) visual overload. Beachfront properties are no longer designed to be livable - they are now designed to be profitable. Freshwater runoff during storm events, media marketing and hype, where do I stop? - its all getting pretty ugly here too now. People used to be in harmony with the environment now they feel the need to take it over and own it. Short term profit motives rule.
Unfortunately Mr Rothman appears to express himself in a manner not acceptable to many.
Seems to have numbers to back him up on the rock though.
If someone were to take up a collection to get him over here for a holiday for the quiky pro he could see its not just his patch thats suffering under the onslaught.
