Painting artwork on old board
Prime it up and paint it with acrylic and clear coat it - fine for the old wall hanger, but won't hold up to much use!
Clean it up real good first give it a very light sand and spray it with a white all purpose primer that has real good adhesion you can get ones that can even stick to glass and tiles (sorry forgot the brand and product i know norglass do it in a tin but not sure if they do it in a spray can)
Spray or draw your design with poskas, then give it spray with a few clear coats.
Ive done it like this and did an all deck spray and it was quite durable.
My wife draws on her boards and gets the ding repairer to spray them for best results. If you are doing it yourself her hint is wait for a nice dry day. Too much humidity clouds the coat.
Good idea for an article.
Ha ha I think I'm retired zen, but you never know,
I'm not averse to a little DIY.
In fact just sold a yellowing Firewire in perfect nick that would have been a goood candidate for some strategic artwork. Would have given it a much needed freshen up.
I'd like to see some pics of what your wife draws and how they come out after spraying BB.
.
Brand new yet to be ridden old grey. It still needs the clear coat so it won't be in the water for a few days.
Wow BB, very nice.
Thanks zen, she loves doing that stuff. It has been on stands in the lounge room for a week!
My young bloke wants to do some art work on his board to cover up some dings
It's his first board and his now ready to graduate to a new board as his done his apprenticeship and is now up and riding
Yeah like most of us when we're learning you get dings and you learn how to do a ding repair. I told him not to sell it as your first board is to important .keep it
So he wants to paint some kind of funky art work
What sort of paint do you use
I used to put a sticker over any crappie areas my bloke wants to paint it go figure
