Interesting reading that FCS or Surf Hardware International lost a lawsuit brought on by one of its original owners Bill McCausland. The amount awarded to McCausland was $2million plus damages which are yet to be determined. I would dare say heads at FCS will roll over this and the business will be put up for sale from Macquarie Bank as they have been trying to sell if for the last few years as their domination in the industry has reduced some what with other fin brands such as Futures, Kinetic Racing and Shapers.

Apparently it cost Surf Hardware International or FCS about $2 million plus costs which could add another few million. It is all on the net in a PDF file if you google it. It has become case law because of the lawsuit. I bet a few heads would have rolled over this pay out.

FCS allen keys....?
What a cop out.
Hate them with vengance, Not one allen key fits, too big, too small :( especially when you have lost the real FCS key.

'Futures' way better and stronger system.

Any news on the bloke that was suing FCS because he cut himself on his fins going over the falls or something like that?

I think he was an American and was after some obscene amount. There was scant information about it but I thought at the time it was pretty audacious.

Wonder if he succeeded?

Shit I could tell you a few stories on this one that would make your hair stand on end but with the law of libel being what it is, I will have to pass.

If you google case and read through some of the pages that come up you should get a picture of what the major problem was and why the company took what was always a risky strategy to try and solve it....that's a much as I can say.

For those that have the time this is the case law which shows the problems that were going on with SHI over the last few years. Very interesting read.
